Spoiled Pooch
I have a spoiled puppy. I had my suspicions and thought he might be a bit pampered, but lately I realized we may have created a monster. Bosco decided a little bit ago not to eat anything. I didn't think too much about it until almost three days had past with him putting up his nose to food. I started to get a little worried (OK a lot) so I started feeding him anyway that I could. The only way he would grace us with his eating was if one of us hand fed him every tiny bite while he lounged on the floor. After we realized that nothing was wrong with him other than he was ridiculously spoiled, we stopped and then he started eating normally again. I think he staged the whole thing just to see how far he could push it. We definitely named him appropriately when we started calling him "Boss".

Question to my Friends
Why don't you go on more trips or adventures?
Is it money, not enough vacation time, kids, and/or, no desire, etc?
I would love to hear your comments and thoughts. If you would rather just email me your thoughts feel free. I will not use any comments in my presentation without asking for permission.
Thanks,
Rich

San Diego Trip and a Thanks to Grandpa
I also bought a great ticket off a scalper for a Padres game. A picture of my seat watching Griffey Jr. hit is below. Besides not having Jennette around it was an excellent trip.

On the way home I stopped in Utah to attend my Grandfathers, Deward Nay, funeral. It was a great service and I will miss my Grandpa. He taught me how to play cards and he was always able to lighten the mood. I don't ever remember him raising a voice to any of us Grandkids. He was a great example and I will miss him.

Ignite Boise - July 16th
Why we all don’t live on the Beach - How Social norms prohibit us from going on more adventures
by Rich Taylor
In early 2008 my wife told me that we need to go live on a beach somewhere for a while. We had just built a house in Meridian, I was in the middle of Graduate school and the start-up company I worked for had just been acquired by a Fortune 200 company. I am always up for a new adventure and who doesn’t want to live on a beach. So we started planning, found all we needed online and bought airline tickets. On Christmas Day 2008 we left our family, friends, brand new home and Idaho for the beaches of Rincón, Puerto Rico. In planning for this trip I discovered there are some Social norms that keep us from going on more adventures. When we would tell people we are moving to Puerto Rico we got a mixed bag of reactions. Some reactions were positive, many curious and some people seemed to think we were doing something wrong with our life. My wife and I had a most excellent adventure in Puerto Rico and I am now back in the Treasure Valley to reveal some of the Social norms that keep us buckled down in the day-to-day grind instead of going on more adventures.
